Travelling to Manila, Philippines can be expensive but there are always cheap flights to Manila on offer at, pretty much, all times of the year.
All the big name airlines go to Manila, but at the moment the only airline with direct flights from the UK to Manila is Philippine Airlines commonly known as PAL. Flight time is around 12 – 13 hours. You also have to take account of the time difference. It makes a great difference depending on whether you are flying east or west. When flying form London to Manila you will generally land in Manila approximately 20 hours (local time) after you left London.
Using any airline other than Philippine Airlines means that you will have to change somewhere on route to Manila. This can be in Europe, the middle east or the far east. Each of these three regions have their advantages and disadvantages when changing planes. So, it really is a matter of personal choice, or favourite airline or cost when booking cheap flights to Manila, Philippines.
When it comes to cost, there is a huge difference in airline ticket prices so do shop around for cheap flights to Manila. Business class fares can be astronomical on some airlines, but there are others which offer a realistic price with all the expected comforts.
Philippine Airlines do have special offers most of the time, so I would suggest they are your first port of call. It certainly is the quickest travel time and therefore the best value around.
Since September 2017, there have been daily direct flights from London to Manila on Philippine Airlines.
Manila Airport
Manila airport is a relatively modern bustling airport which provides a straightforward entry into Manila, Philippines. There can be long queues at immigration, but they do pass through quite quickly. Baggage collection is remarkably easy and the exit from the airport is a very short walk away.
Most of the hotels in Makati can provide cars to take you to your hotel This is a very good low cost luxury which is much better then queuing for taxis, which can sometimes be troublesome.
When departing from Manila, there can be long queues at check-in, so it’s best to leave plenty of time to arrive at the airport. Traffic to the airport can be slow especially on a Friday afternoon and evening.
